Committees

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

THE OUTREACH COMMITTEE of the Pastoral Council is intended to be more than a welcoming committee. Its primary function is to be sure that all know that Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Annunciation are welcoming parishes where our common faith is our bond, a bond that is more powerful than race, language, sexual orientation and financial status. The committee’s work involves proactively inviting everyone to come and see the goodness of the Lord through the ministry of our parishes.

LITURGY COMMITTEE

THE LITURGY COMMITTEE of the Pastoral Council is intended to be a point-of-entry ministry team. Its primary function is to prayerfully invite everyone to taste and see the goodness of the Lord in the worship life of our parish. The committee’s work involves planning for and setting the table to welcome any who come to worship, that they may more fully know the presence of the Lord in their midst.

GladTidings - LGBT MINISTRY TEAM

Glad Tidings embraces Faith Formation with LGBTs, their families and friends. Our primary function is to bridge the hearts and minds of the greater community by inviting all to participate. We are a safe, loving and informative space where we expand/ explore our spirituality, prayer and community. The team’s work involves actively serving in the name of Christ, promoting dialogue and living in the Church as authentic children of God.We meet the 4th Monday of each month. Our meetings are open to members of the parish and the community at large. Organized in 2010, Our Ministry works to sustain a welcoming environment for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons – and our allies – in this diverse community of faith. We host and arrange an array of programs including: prayer services, a support group, educational forums and dialogues on relevant topics. And the angel said to them, “Fear not!For behold, I announce to you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people…” --Luke 2:10
